MANAGEMENT at Pakare Paye Arts Centre yesterday welcomed television personality and reality show scout, Barney Mpariwa, who has made a move to support their activities.
Mpariwa, who worked closely with the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi on his Starbrite Talent search programme, is one of the sponsors behind the one-day Summer Clash Festival.
Andy Muridzo, Suluman Chimbetu, Bishop Mockery and Mighty Killi will take part in the event on Saturday.
Festival coordinator, Faith Kadzura, who runs Style of Faith Fashions, said:
“Our preparations are on schedule, all is set for a moment of joy and happiness at Pakare Paye. As Style of Faith Fashions and Faith Shumbakadzi Events, we hope to deliver a memorable day.
“We would like to thank Mr Barney Mpariwa, who worked with the late Baba Tuku, as one of the sponsors of the event.
“We are closely working with him on this project and he has decided to assist us in a big way.”
Kadzura was upbeat the event would live up to expectations.
“The artists on the line-up are the most sought-after entertainers, especially by Norton’s audience and fans.
“Sulu has a history of good collaborations, especially the ones he did with the legendary Dr. Mtukudzi titled Dande.
“Andy Muridzo is a crowd puller in Norton. The singer commands a huge following here.
“As we get into the summer, we have lined up quite a number of events.”
