NGEZI Platinum Stars forward Bruno Mtigo says he is finding solace in winning the golden boot of the Chibuku Super Cup.
His team lost to FC Platinum in the final at Mandava on Sunday.

The Ngezi side 3-5 on penalties after the match had ended goalless in two hours of action.

Mtigo ended the tournament with seven goals.

“Yes of course I am disappointed, we gave our all, everyone was dedicated to go to the extremes, and it is evidenced with the full-time score line. But being the top scorer is a good feeling.

“Penalties are like the lottery, we cannot blame ourselves too much. We have seen them being missed even by the greatest players of all time.

“There is no guarantee in penalties, they are like gambling, you can only hope that things will go your way.”

He said he had hoped for a fairytale, where he would win the trophy in Zvishavane, where his career started to really take shape.

“That was my wish, whenever I am in Zvishavane I feel at home.

“I won my first medal with Shabanie Mine after our promotion to the top flight.

“I had the feeling that maybe history might repeat itself but it did not happen,” said Mtigo.

He expressed gratitude to the fans who came in numbers.

“I want to thank them for their unspeakable support, the love which they exhibited is very huge.

“We still have a lot to play for, we are going to try our best to win something for them, we are really grateful,” Mtigo said.
