HIGHLANDERS defender Colin Mujuru says his side should remain focused after losing to champions FC Platinum in Castle Lager Challenge Cup on Saturday.

Mujuru told H-Metro that despite losing their first competitive match, his side should remain focused as they prepare for the upcoming season.

“That match is already over; we should now focus on the upcoming matches because if we dwell on the past it will affect our preparations of the upcoming season.

“Next season we want to compete for championship,” Mujuru said.

Highlanders defender believes that his side are in the right track as they prepare for the upcoming season.

He said they should continue to work hard if there to compete for next season honours.

“We are okay it was just a cup, a first competitive match and the league has not kicked off yet so we are going to fight for the league.

“We are going to work hard for us to compete,” Mujuru added.

Highlanders skipper tips his side to use that Challenge Cup game as a wakeup call to rectify their problems as they prepare to fight for the title next season.

“It’s just a wakeup call for us, we should use it to rectify our problems so that we can fight for the title next season,” said Mujuru.

Mujuru salutes Fc Platinum for showing more hunger and desire on Saturday.

“They showed more hunger and desire to with that win and we did not contain the pressure then we lost to them.

“It was difficult to come back because they were managing the game very well.

“We did not punish them, they punished us and we did not utilize their mistakes we should correct on that.
