Former Pamushana High school student and goal minder Artwell Mukandi says he is still emotionally attached to COPA Coca-Cola tournaments.
Mukandi remembers the school boy tourney as his ticket to Brazil and gateway to premier league football.
“Me coming back to my former school brings back memories of my COPA Coca-Cola stint.
“I had my first trip to Brazil through Coca-Cola after playing for Pamushana.
“I am emotionally attached to the tournament and it will remain my biggest platform,” he said.
He urged players from the school to remain focused.
“I am proud of the boys that won the trophy last year; they deserved it after a long time.
“As an old student, I urge the new crop to remain focused as they go into this year’s tournament,” he said.
Pamushana have been drawn into Group D together with Mash-east and Midlands.
Mukandi is a former Dynamos goalkeeper.
His teammates at Pamushana included Simba Nhivi, Gabriel Nyoni and Patrick Kumbula.
Some COPA legends from Masvingo who attended the launch included George Magariro and Godfrey Dondo.
