WARRIORS midfielder Marshall Munetsi says they are ready to fight for a positive result when they play Zambia in the 2021 Afcon qualifier this evening.
The match is for 6pm at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
“Everyone is focused and ready.
“We have to believe in ourselves and we only didn’t manage to score in the previous game and that’s what we have to do in our match,” he said.
Asked want went wrong in their match against Botswana last Friday, he said:
“We said it before that football is evolving and countries are doing their best to get to the highest level.
“And it’s a picture that tells us that as a country we should be doing the same.”
And after the draw with the Zebras that are regarded as minnows, fans criticised it’s a signal to the end of the campaign.
But the Stade de Reims star says they’re not focusing on that as players but rather the game ahead.
“Fans have their own views and we respect that.
“But as for us we play football and see football in a different way to them and our focus is on the next match,” he said.
“Zambia is a strong team and they also want to win and prove a point so it’s going to be a difficult match we need to win.
“But we want to make sure that we put our all in this game so that we can come up with a win.”
The 23-year-old has vowed to do his best if given a chance to play.
“If given a chance to play l want represent my country to the best of my ability.
“Regarding our chances of qualifying as for me and the team we look to take one game at a time so our focus is on Zambia now,” he said.
