Warriors midfielder Marshall Munetsi has urged his teammates to use the same approach which they used in the previous AFCON campaigns as they kick-start the 2021 qualifiers.
Speaking during their practice session yesterday, Munetsi said:
“We have the consistency of qualifying from the last two campaigns so we have to maintain the same mentality that we have been having to make sure that we win all our matches to make sure we put ourselves in a good position to qualify.”
Zimbabwe, who have participated in the last two AFCON tournaments, start their 2021 campaign against Botswana at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.
Kick Off is 6pm.
“I think we know how the coach needs us to play, we know that we have to win the match on Friday it’s a massive game for us to start on a good note,” he said.
“It’s important for us to jell as a team, as a group and we have a good group of coaches that have been helping us to maintain the form. Football is the same wherever you play, weather you play in France or in South Africa. Once you have the confidence and once you are able to jell with your teammates it becomes easier.”
