Marshall Munetsi’s team Stade Reims is set to start training next week after the French Ligue 1 gave teams the go ahead.
Some of the teams in the league already started training but Reims are said to be still waiting for other European based players who had gone back home.
“I think we will resume training next week.
“The club had given some players who stay in Europe permission to go be with their families during lockdown.
“But l couldn’t come because of the unavailability of flights.
“So far we have been doing online training and the club said we could start training this week,“ he said.
Munetsi says he is excited to resume training with the team.
“Individual training helps you to work of your personal game and become better in some key areas.
“But in terms of intensity it’s very different from training with the rest of the team. It’s difficult to build tactical awareness with the rest of the team and work on different things that you would normally do so for the season.
“But l’m very excited to be back on the pitch as a team and l can’t wait to meet up with everyone,” he said.
The 24 year old will be participating in the European league next season and says it’s an opportunity that he is looking forward to.
“It has always been my prayer and dream to play in the European league but for now with everything that is going on at the moment the feeling is different because l would love to see people getting back to their normal lives so we can all enjoy what we do best.
“But l am so looking forward to playing at such a big stage in my career,” he said.
