ZIMBABWE international midfielder Marshall Munetsi says he is over the moon to have clocked fifty appearances for his team, Stade de Reims, in the French top-flight.
Munetsi marked the milestone in the team’s goalless draw against Lorient at the weekend since he joined from Orlando Pirates in 2019.
In an interview with H-Metro Sport yesterday, the Warriors star said he is delighted with the feat.
“I’m happy to have played to 50 games with Reims. It’s not possible without God’s grace and I’m grateful for the opportunity He has given me to play.
“And I’m looking forward to 50 more appearances with my team,” he said.
The 25-year-old has credited hard work to the achievement, describing it as an ‘amazing experience’.
“It was my biggest dream to play in Europe and with hard work, it has become a reality for me now and to reach up to 50 appearances is an amazing experience for me.
“All thanks to the coaches and everyone who believe in me, the coaches have been trusting me and giving me game time. And I appreciate that a lot,” he said.
The Zimbabwean said the game time has helped him improve as a player.
“Playing regularly has improved me as player. If you get game time you get experience, fitness and the sharpness needed as a footballer.
“These games are important for my progress and experience in the field and hopefully I will be able to play for many more years to come,” he said.
Regarding the current season, he said:
“The season has just started and its always a marathon and we taking everything one game at a time.
“We are hoping for a better season and to finish at a better position than we were last season.
“And I will just try to help my team in any way l can in achieving their targets.”
