Former Zimbabwe international and Chicken Inn goalkeeper’s coach Energy Murambadoro says he is honored to be appointed Warriors goalkeepers’ coach.

Murambadoro is part of the new Warriors technical team that was appointed last week by the new interim head coach Norman Mapeza, the other two being Taurai Mangwiro and Madhla Mpofu who will be working as assistant coaches.

Commenting on his appointment Murambadoro said:

“Its a great honour to have been given the chance to work with the warriors.

“Kudos to coach Mapeza for putting me in his team.”

The Norman Mapeza led technical team’s first assignment is in two weeks time when the Warriors face Ghana back to back within a short space of 5 days in a world cup qualifiers match.

Murambadoro believes that the Warriors still have a chance to make it in the group.

He said:

“We might be sitting on the bottom of the group now but trust ma anything is possible in football we just have to believe.”

Goalkeepers crisis have been one of the challenges within the Warriors since 2019 which somehow gives Murambadoro pressure in his new assumed office.

“Obviously this comes with a little pressure, football is a game full of pressure one needs to just deal with it positively because pressure is part of the game.

“Also I think we still have very good keepers and we just have to bring the best out of them wen it comes to national team,” said the former Warriors goalkeeper.

Zimbabwe is currently bottom in the group with one point , Ghana and Ethopia on second and third position with 3 points each and South Africa on top with four points.
