Musician Ashley ‘Shleyoung’ Matowa has dropped a COVID-19 song meant to raise awareness.
The song dubbed Skelemu Covid-19 was officially released on March 20.
“This is my first song and it is meant to raise awareness to the people of Zimbabwe, Africa and the world as whole, about the world pandemic Corona virus – official name Codiv-19.
“Skelemu means danger and the song emphasizes on the protective measures recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) which includes, the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, keeping a social distance, avoid touching of eyes, nose and mouth and call of emergence in case of suspicious sickness,” he said.
The song was produced by S2Kizzy and Gullis.
The musician in expressing his sincerity in helping the nation to raise awareness, he gave countless compact discs ‘CDs’ to the people for free.
“I have initiated a challenge called #savethehomelesschallenge in all social media platforms with an intention for the public to help those who are homeless (streetkids) with protective clothing against corona virus which includes face masks, gloves and alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
“I bought a number of homeless people face masks,” added Shelyoung.
