Zvishavane based female musician Maroza –real name Rosemary Zhou- has released a song dubbed Gemenzi reGucci where she is admiring people who splash cash.
The Celebrity Life singer believes in hard work.
“The song praises people who splash money and put on expensive clothes.
“In the song I am encouraging people to work hard so that they enjoy a flamboyant life.
“The song also talks about having quality clothes, kunyatsofeka hembe dzine label,” she said.
“My aim is to entertain, educate and inform people.
“I want take music far and market our Zimbabwe music as well as culture.”
Maroza who recently signed to Verenga Empire Entertainment continues to show her versatility and diversity as a musician.
Farai Verenga who is also the owner of Verenga Empire Entertainment praised Maroza.
“Maroza has an unprecedented style of music which she calls Afro-Rhumba.
“A fusion of afro-beat from Nigeria and Rhumba music from Congo.
“So far to me no one has her style, at least not yet.
“Though little similarities can be found in far East Africa, in the likes of Koffi Olomide, Ferre Gola and Fally Ipupa,” he said.
“The uniqueness in her Afro-Rhumba can easily be spotted with her beautiful and mesmerising voice along with unique compositions as well as music progressions.”
