Musicians on JP 31st birthday

LOCAL musicians have showered praises on their fellow counterpart Jah Prayzah, who turned 31 yesterday.

Gospel musician Sabastian Magacha described Jah Prayzah as a legend who is contributing a lot in putting Zimbabwean music on the world map.

“I want to say happy birthday to my brother Jah Prayzah, may God continue to bless him and may he reach his destiny.

“I have been in the music industry for a while but Jah Prayzah is a rare breed that is hard to find.

“In my own opinion, he is one of the greatest musicians that our country has ever had and apart from his amazing vocal prowess, he is a humble man full of ideas.

“He is younger than me but I have learnt a lot from him, he understands that as musicians we don’t compete against each other but we are on a mission to make our country recognised regionally and internationally.

“One thing I realised about Jah is also the fact that everything he touches turns to gold, I featured him on my song Mweya Mutsvene and the song is a hit,” said Magacha.

Afro-fusion musician Dereck Mpofu also described Jah Prayzah as a brand.

“When I see Jah Prayzah I see a brand I also see him as an industry in the sense that many people are getting their livelihood through the gift that God gave him.

“I want to take this opportunity to wish him a happy birthday may God continue to bless him.

“I have also featured Jah Prayzah on one of my songs called Bvisa and he is a good person to work with,” he said.

Urban grooves musician Goodchild has also praised Jah Prayzah for empowering other artistes.

“Jah is one of the most hardworking artists to ever emerge from the Zimbabwean Music industry.

“He also stands out further from the rest due to the efforts he makes to make sure he helps other artists by providing a platform,

“Through a state of the art studio that even other well established artistes like myself & ExQ who came around way before he could even afford bus fare to travel from Uzumba to Harare, are making use of to push our careers further.

“He gives hope to many people, even non musicians, that you can come from nothing to something through having the right mind-set and putting in work he is a good role model indeed.

“He has helped a lot of people, personally I have benefitted from his being around.

“I got a CD printing contract for his Jerusalem album, I also did my album at his MTM studio and he helped write the title track for my latest album “Underrated”.

“When someone does good to people, we have no choice but to wish him more blessings so he can bless others and we also wish him many more years around so I want to take this opportunity to wish him a happy birthday.”

Many other artistes took to various social media platforms to wish Jah Prayzah ‘happy birthday’.
