Warriors skipper Knowledge Musona expressed his disappointment after losing 1-0 to Ghana in the 2022 World Cup qualifier which was played yesterday at the National Sports Stadium.
Zimbabwe has lost back to back matches against the Black Stars and they are at the basement of Group G with one point in four games.
“We played well. It was not a bad game for us. The goal which we conceded was a major setback. It killed the momentum but somehow we kept fighting but it was disgusting that the final result of the match was not good enough for us.
“Obviously, we wanted to win. It is unfortunate that we have lost twice now in a row against Ghana, a big team. It happens in football. Everyone is disappointed with the defeat.
” The next match is more important now. We now need to take the positives from the matches we have played and hopefully going forward we can get positive results. This is not the time to lose hope. The coach has insisted that he is building a team and he has been observing areas which we need to improve,” said Musona.
Musona urged fans to remain patient and promised a better show in the coming encounter against South Africa.
“We need to trust the process. I believe if we can rectify the mistakes that we are making we can do better in the coming matches. We should not lose hope, it is important to remain optimistic. I think we have learnt a lot from the previous games and I believe we are going to play better in our next game against South Africa.
“I am really happy that we are now playing as a team. We are now playing collective football. Everyone is showing the zeal to play,” he said.
