Warriors captain Knowledge Musona believes they still have a chance to turnaround their 2022 World Cup qualifiers campaign.
Zimbabwe picked a point after a drab 0-0 draw against South Africa and are set to face Ethiopia tomorrow.
“I know that Zimbabweans are not happy with the result because they wanted a win. They are justified and we feel their concern but it’s part of the game. We wanted a win but it didn’t happen but we can’t lose hope now because of one result.
“We did the same at home against Botswana in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers but we managed to bounce back and we can still do the same thing.”
“To us players it’s still a good result because we had something to build on in the next games. It was just not our day, we were expecting to win but things didn’t happen that way. We have players that can score any day, any time but it didn’t happen that way. We don’t lose hope, we shift focus to the last game.”
The Warriors, who are yet to win a home match under Zdravko Logarusic are hopeful that they will be able to bounce back to winning ways.
“We will bounce back, we will rectify our mistakes and get that positive result again. We are going to do a little bit more because it’s not good enough to draw at home.
The goals will come, we have players who can do anything anytime. I still believe that we are going to score more goals. We haven’t win a game at home for the past three games which is not a good feeling, we will work on that and bring joy to the supporters.” he said.
