MURATE gospel outfit, Seven Calvary Gospel Brigade (pictured above) , is set to unveil a new album titled ‘Handina Nyadzi Nevhangeri,’ this coming weekend.
The seven youthful Baptist Church musicians said the album ‘is a masterpiece.’ The album features eight songs, which include Ndakagara Muchuchidima, Kupenya Mumoyo and Handina Nyadzi Nevhangeri.
One of the musicians, Nigel Munashe Kutogo, said:
“Handina Nyadzi Nevhangeri is a song which inspires and gives so much energy to the work we do for God.
“As youths, we think and feel more deeply about worldly things and this album shows the relationship between me and God.
“We are doing music as youths and it is better than spending time doing drugs.”
The group consists of Simbarashe Jikisera, Gaylad Muchayi, Blessed Funani, Blessed Mwale, Mark Mandidzidze, Nigel Mutogo and Kudzai Chikukwa.
“We are excited to launch our first album.
“Our church is not popular, therefore, it becomes difficult to be complimented on our progress since we also sing our songs in Ndau, which is not too popular.
“Upon this realisation, we decided to come up with an album that is well versed with our activities.
“So, we felt the need to introduce our church in a musical way,” said Kudzai.
