GOLDEN Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa says his wish is to win the golden boot in the ABSA Premier Soccer League.
Mutizwa has been in the race for a couple of seasons but was not luck enough.
The Warriors star said that he is determined to win it when the season resumes.
He is second on the scoring charts after with 11 goals, three behind Orlando Pirates’ Gabadino Mhango.
“It is my aim to win this season’s golden boot. It’s been long overdue.
“I am so happy to be in the golden boot race and it means so much to my career, it means that l’m doing well,” he said.
“l hope l will be able to score more . And as a striker l can only promise more goals and l don’t want to do it for me only but to help my team achieve its targets.
“Our team is a small but has been growing so I just want to score more goals as I can so that I can try help my team achieve their targets,” he added.
The former Highlanders striker won the Golden boot in the local PSL in 2015 and also wants to take his scoring form to the Warriors.
Though he didn’t get enough game time at AFCON tournament last year, Mutizwa showed his brilliance at the World Cup qualifiers against Somalia when he scored and had an assist which saw Zimbabwe cruising through in the dying minutes of the game.
“Getting a place in the team is not so difficult if you just manage to work hard.
“If you dedicate yourself and work hard getting a place in the team will not be hard for you.
“So far I haven’t reached my targets because I am still way short of my targets since l want to do more for my team and my country
“I have hopes of scoring more goals for the Warriors because it’s every players wish to do that for his country. “So if given a chance, yes I would love to do that for the national team.
“I want to do more for my country if given a chance to play and l’m looking forward to many national caps,” he said.
