Ngezi Platinum Queens coach Plaxedes Muzuva says she is impressed with the performance of her charges in the Premier Netball League season opening round of fixtures that were played over the weekend.
PNL commenced a week later than the initial scheduled date with bubble one games being played in Harare.
Last week Harare games failed to kick off due to venue challenges.
Muzuva said considering the little time they had to train for the league her charges surpassed her expectations.
“My team’s play was good considering we had two weeks of training and preparing. We began our preparations a bit late. I think if we give ourselves ample time to prepare we will fare well in this season,” said Muzuva.
Going into the next round of fixtures Muzuva expects Ngezi Platinum to dominate and improve its accuracy in front of the net.
“My team needs to improve in finishing. The downside was the finishing. The opposition got chances and managed to capitalise on them, their accuracy was perfect. We missed so many opportunities. If we perfect our shooting accuracy we can dominate many teams,” she said.
Ngezi Platinum are the clear favourites to come out of the bubble one which consist of, Harare City Queens, Beta, Belvedere Teachers College, University of Zimbabwe, Black Rhinos and Waterfalls.
