HARARE Basketball Association (HBA) Men’s A League 2019 champions, Harare city Hornets have finally named Tawanda Russel Nemutambwe as their substantive coach
This moves comes after the departure of Eritrean Awet Taisfei who joined the team last year and helped them to secure their second HBA title.
In a statement , Hornets chairman, Sani Mbofana said they are confident the new coach will be instrumental in helping the team maintain their dominance.
He also went on describe Nemutambwe as a goal-getter.
“Following the departure of coach Awet Taisfei who had stepped in for 6 months as Hornets coach, the club has moved in to appoint Tawanda Russel Nemutambwe as its substantive coach.
“He is young, ambitious and very professional. This is one way of describing the new Hornets coach,” he said.
Mbofana said has praised Nemutambwe’s qualifications saying he has the capacity to lead the team.
“He is a formerly with Varsity Leopards with experience as an assistant coach in the recent national team campaign in which was behind the fall of the mighty Mozambique to Zimbabwe in an opening match.
“Another exciting addition is the return of coach Tapuwa ‘TP’ Mungunyana to assist him together with Talent Marembe,” said Mbofana.
