Network service provider NetOne has partnered with Harare City Council in renovating Sunningdale Community Hall.
Speaking at the unveiling of the Sunningdale Community Centre Hall, Harare Mayor Herbert Gomba applauded NetOne for their exceptional Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
“The desire by NetOne to positively influence people’s lives and change their stories is unquestionable.
“Our vision is to become a world class city by 2025 and as the city alone we cannot realise this vision, thus such partnerships as these are key to the attainment of our vision.
“When I first saw the refreshing look on this Sunningdale Community Hall, with these eye-catching graphics, I felt a sense of pride.
“Most of our infrastructures are worn out and with such friends like NetOne, our vision will be a reality,” he said.
Mayor Gomba urged Sunningdale residents to look after the community hall.
“I urge Sunningdale community to look after this complex and ensure that these new standards are maintained.
“Together we can make the city attain world class status by 2025 and restore to its former glory,” Gomba added.
NetOne executive Director Marketing Communications Dr Eldrette Shereni said NetOne was greatly honoured to have delivered this new refreshing and trendy look to the Sunningdale community hall.
“NetOne was dedicated on positively impacting the lives of the Sunningdale Community.
“The City of Harare is working on attaining world class city status by 2025 and as NetOne we will walk the journey with the council as we are the citizens of this town,” she said.
“Through a boarder partnership with the City of Harare, NetOne will be assisting the city by attending to some of the critical needs on council properties and the refurbishing of the community hall was a result of that partnership.
“The development of youths is closer to our hearts as the network that cares, to ensure that the youths of Sunningdale are not left out and NetOne contracted some youths from the community to do the graphic designs.
“The youths also happen to be beneficiaries of this hall and NetOne is happy to be part of their success.”
Apart from renovating the community hall, NetOne also donated 1000 exercise books for Sunningdale 2 Primary School.
Councillor for Sunningdale Hammy Madzingira was grateful for NetOne’s initiative.
“I’m very happy for what NetOne did, their efforts are most appreciated.
“I urge my fellow residents to continue looking after our place and together we can keep the environment clean,”Madzingira said.
