NEVILLE Mutsvangwa’s bail appeal at the High Court has been struck off the roll indefinitely.

This follows High Court Judge Justice Esther Muremba’s decision to recuse herself when she was about to deliver her ruling.

Justice Muremba cited personal reasons before she referred the matter back to the High Court Registrar for allocation to another judge.

“I had postponed the matter to today (yesterday) for ruling but I want to recuse myself for personal reasons.

“I will refer the matter back to the Registrar for allocation to another judge,” ruled Justice Muremba.

Neville and two accomplices — Ellis Majachani and Simbarashe Tichingana — were arrested on May 8 on money laundering and trading in foreign currency charges.

He was labelled a flight risk by a Harare magistrate after the State said they found him in possession of 28 bank cards from different countries. Additionally, Neville is being charged for violating the Telecommunications Act.

Neville’s lawyer, Josephine Sande, said they will proceed to make another bail application once the Registrar has set down the matter before a different judge.

The trio is expected back at the magistrates court on Thursday for routine remand.
