DYNAMOS new boy Ngandu Mangala is targeting the golden boot after his brilliant performance in their 2-0 over CAPS United in the Charity Challenge Cup at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Mangala was on target as DeMbare beat their bitter rivals and fans were impressed by the attacker who showcased some good runs.
Mangala said he was confident he would do well as all eyes were on Chigowe’s new look side.
“I haven’t started, this was just training, and you will see good football.
“I am very happy to finally play my first game for Dynamos but I was confident from the start so it’s a good result and the fans will be very happy,” he said.
Some of the new players at DeMbare like Robert Sackey and Vincent Mberga were not part of the team but Mangala, who is relatively unknown, announced himself in some fashion befitting a standing ovation when he was substituted.
Mangala, 25, is not new to Zimbabwean football as he has played for lower division sides Ruwa Gunners, Prime Rangers and Green Fuel before.
He scored 12 goals in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One last season.
After a confidence boosting performance against CAPS, the striker already sees himself among the top goal scorers as DeMbare look forward to a season opener against new boys Mushowani when games kick-off March 30.
“This season I’m looking at the top goal scorer, why not.
“In Division One I did well but not to the best of my abilities because I wasn’t fit but this year I feel everything is okay.
“To the fans they have just seen what we can do, the will enjoy a lot,” he said.
