NGEZI Platinum closed in on unbeaten leaders Highlanders with a 1-0 win over Caps United at Bata Stadium in Gweru Saturday afternoon.
Captain Qadir Amin scored from a free kick outside the box just before the halftime break.
With the three points, Ngezi Platinum moved to within two points of Highlanders who are in action at home to bottom-placed Black Rhinos Sunday.
Ngezi were seven points behind Highlanders at halfway stage of the season but back-to-back wins at the start of the second half has seen them pile pressure on Bosso.
Chicken Inn had a successful trip, winning 1-0 against inconsistent newcomers Simba Bhora to move to 31 points, seven behind neighbours Highlanders.
At Luveve, 10-man Bulawayo Chiefs FC held on for dear life to force a share of the spoils against ZPC Kariba.
Bulawayo Chiefs were undone in the 20th minute when Malvin Mkolo walked off injured and was replaced by Ben Nyahunzvi two minutes later.
Nyahunzvi was later red carded deep in the second half to present ZPC Kariba with a numerical advantage.
