.. . Dhlakama warns CAPS
NGEZI Platinum coach Rodwell Dhlakama is not worried about CAPS United saying his side can match the Harare giants.
The two teams clash in a crucial Premiership encounter at Baobab with CAPS desperately wanting maximum points to keep their title hopes alive.
Dhlakama, however, said it is none of their business that Makepekepe’s fate might be decided today.
“We are aware that they are title chasers but where do we fit in in this equation, we are going to fulfil our fixture and do what is expected of us. Getting a positive result,” said Dhlakama.
“We will approach this game like any other league game we played.
“We are in the league to compete, CAPS United is a big institution, a big brand with huge supporters and must be respected in the football circles and beyond. We are also making great progress in the branding of our team and anything short of that is unacceptable.
“This is purely a team of the community of Mashonaland West and we have a territory to protect. We are working flat out to ensure that the Mhondoro-Ngezi community has to be happy and we can only do that by winning,” said Dhlakama.
The former Chapungu coach knows the threats posed by the visitors but is now worried.
“They have pressure to win, we don’t have so we are going to work against them,” he added.
Dhlakama also highlighted that their preparations were disturbed by wet weather.
“We have been disturbed a lot by excessive rains, we couldn’t train, the pitch was water logged most of the time because of the excessive rains currently prevailing in the country but that can’t be an excuse,” he said.
Madamburo are currently sixth on the log standings with 45 points.
With two more games remaining they still have hopes to finish in top four.
