SOUTH Africa based musician Enock “Nox” Guni is over the moon after being crowned Best Afro Pop Musician at the recently held 2021 PPC ZIMA awards ceremony, writes Trust Khosa.
The Ndinonyara singer, who is yet to lay his hands on the gong, said he was humbled by his triumph and saluted home fans for believing in him.
Nox, who was nominated in two other categories – Best International Artist and Best R &B – said:
“I’m really excited after being voted winner for the Best Afro Pop artiste in Zimbabwe.
“When I entered the awards, I wasn’t sure that I would go all the way and win the award.
“The award organisers advised me to enter in other categories and I thought they want to use me or to make numbers.
“Now that I have been crowned the overall winner in the category, I will continue working hard.”
“To my fans, I would like to thank you for the support that you have shown me for the great part of my career.
“This has motivated me to continue working hard and I pledge to continue working hard, churning out good music over the years.
“Last year was indeed an eventful year for me and getting this accolade is the kind of motivation that I require to continue raising the Zimbabwean flag high.”
Nox is one of the consistent musicians plying his trade in diaspora, especially across the Limpopo where he has settled well.
