DANCEHALL musician, Nutty O, says he feels his efforts are finally being recognised hence the engagement of Jamaican reggae queen, Etana, in the remake of his underrated track.
Do It Alone, an Ability Extension project produced by DJ Tamuka, was appealing enough for Etana to want in.
The songstress is said to have recorded her bit in the midst of her global tour in North America after receiving a proposal from Nutty O’s manager Byron Kabaira.
“I knew there was more to Do It Alone so we decided to exhaust it by doing a remix with the renowned and award winning Etana.
“It’s a move I hope will open more doors for my career and ensure appreciation for the hit.
“Etana has always been on my list and having this opportunity is just but a hint of what is yet to come,” Nutty O told H-Metro.
The young artiste who is currently en route for Gland Festival which is being hosted by Tizwe and 3 Kings is said to be eyeing collaborations with the likes of Busy Signal, Popcaan and Gyptian among others.
Kabaira said the project is in an effort to grow Nutty O’s brand on an international level.
“The original Do It Alone was a huge song that we felt never got as much attention as it deserved; that largely was because Nutty O wasn’t as acclaimed then as he is now.
“This is one of the much needed color stripes to add to the Nutty O brand as we continue to grow it to regional, continental, and global acclaim as it deserves.
“We have had our sights beyond the perceived horizons from the beginning and now this is definitely the manifestation of that resolve and aspiration,” Kabaira said.
The team said they are hoping to shoot a video for the single as it deserves game changing visuals.
