CONTEMPORARY gospel musician, Stanley “Pastor G” Gwanzura, is set to release a new album titled Hope Reloaded.

As the name suggests, the album brings hope to people who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and those in despair.

The 12-track album will be launched at 7Arts Theatre on December 16.

Pastor G said he wrote most of the songs during the Covid-19 era.

“The album is about bringing hope in hopeless situations.

“We went through so much during the Covid-19 era, losing loved ones, opportunities, money and time.

“The album seeks to try to recapture life, no matter what we are going through, there is always hope in God.,” he said.

Having lost both his parents during the Covid-19 era, the musician is determined to inspire others who went through tough times to stay strong.

His father, Albert Gwanzura, died on July 7, 2020.

His mother, Tracy Gwanzura, passed away on January 10 last year.

“It was traumatising to lose both my parents in a space of seven months. I still live with that hurt, I still cry when I think about them, but I have accepted that it’s the passage of life.

“It’s a normal occurrence though we can never get used to it,” he said.

Pastor G said the show will be a fusion of different young artists who will be performing with him on the day as opening acts.

“One thing I really value is mentoring young artists.

“I am a very deep personal person when I perform and minister because I believe in sharing a message that will inspire the nation to do better.

“The show is about breaking barriers and cycles in our lives.”

Artists who are going to perform include Billy Ngoreta, Marbel Madondo, Simba Ray, Ezekiel Paul and Richard Dube.

“I will also bring one surprise big artist,” he said.

He said his weight loss journey has been therapeutic.

“I never thought I would be able to break the barrier of exercise, changing my lifestyle and losing weight.

“To date I have lost 57kg, I started the year weighing 193kg and today I weigh 136.4kg.”
