THE absence of Golden Arrows and Warriors left-back Divine Lunga might be a blessing in disguise for Ronald Pfumbidzai.
Being the only natural left back in the squad, Pfumbidzai has a chance to start on Sunday.
Lunga has been ruled out of the squad after picking an injury playing for his South African club on Sunday in a match against Black Leopards.
The former Chicken Inn player has been a marvel to watch with his perfect touches and ball controlling.
On the other end, Bloemfontein Celtic left-back Pfumbidzai’s tremendous form cannot be overlooked since he started playing in the Absa Premier League.
In an interview with H-Metro, Pfumbidzai said he would have loved to play if given the opportunity.
“It is the coach who decides who plays but if given the chance I would be happy. I wouldn’t say that I am delighted over my fellows’ absence.
“Personally I don’t have pressure and I got nothing to prove at all, I will just play my normal game,” he said.
“Looking at my performance so far, I see progress. I have improved a lot and I still want to learn more. I am happy for such a great achievement.”
Warriors play DRC back-to-back on Saturday and next Tuesday.
“Football is the same and as both teams we have the same agenda which is to qualify. I am quite aware that these two matches are very tricky but we must make sure that we collect maximum points.
“It is no secret that we are playing a very strong side hence the need to work harder,” said Pfumbidzai.
