Premiership debutants TelOne FC handed defending Champions FC Platinum their first loss of the season with a 1-0 win at Luveve .
A second half goal by Elaso Chigora separated the two teams in a tightly contested match.
The league minnows seems to be a headache to Platinum.
Platinum drew with Mushowani and Herentals at home a fortnight ago.
Coach Norman Mapeza said the league is still young, they will bounce back in their next assignment. “Well done to TelOne they played well today. Their plan really worked. We have been playing since January and loosing is part of the game. We won’t let this pull us down.
“In today’s game our forwards were not that creative and we will work on that in our next match,” he said.
Platinum had a chance to score when they were awarded a penalty after their striker was fouled in the box.
Kelvin Moyo took the spot kick and it was saved, seven minutes into the second half. Five minutes later, Chigora broke the deadlock.
TelOne coach Jairos Tapera said he was pleased with his boys.
“My team did well today and I am very happy for them. They were tactically disciplined. This is one of our biggest wins so far. Defeating the defending champions is a huge achievement for us. It will go a long way in boosting our confidence,” said Tapera.
TelOne took their tally to nine points while FC Platinum remain with 14 from possible 21.
