National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi says they are yet to receive a report of dancehall artiste Ian “Platinum Prince” Makiwa whose photographs of him appearing battered are circulating on social media.
Ass Comm Nyathi urged the family to contact the police for investigations to be carried if they are missing him.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police are still to receive a report in connection with the photograph of an artiste appearing battered that is circulating on social media,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.
“Police are checking their records to see if there is any such report made for investigations to be carried out.
“We are urging the family to make a police report if they are not seeing the person in question, “he said.
Different versions surrounding the photographs have been circulating with some saying he was abducted.
Others have been saying that he was beaten up after being caught with someone’s wife.
Ever since the leaking of pictures, his whereabouts have been a matter of conjecture.
Those Zim dancehall were convinced it was a stunt for him to make a comeback while others went on to sympathise with him if indeed he was attacked.
