Police warn parents, guardians

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, has cautioned parents and guardians to ensure they or a representative is present when their children are being picked up from and dropped off at school by contracted transporters.
The warning comes after Samuel Honde (60) was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping 25 ECD students from David Livingstone Primary School on Thursday and taking them to Macheke.
The children were eventually reunited with their parents after a medical examination at Marondera Provincial Hospital.
He urged parents and guardians to make sure that their representatives are present to monitor the transporters’ movements to and from school.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the kidnapping.
