POLICE have urged pedestrians to exercise caution when on the road to avoid being hit by vehicles.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, also reminded drivers to adhere to road rules and regulations to avoid causing accidents.
He emphasised that road safety is everyone’s responsibility and encouraged the public to report any reckless driving to the police.
He said they were investigating a fatal road traffic accident which occurred along Highglen Road, near Meru Service Station, in Harare on Saturday.
“A woman aged 48 was killed, while a 10-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a Toyota Hilux. The victims were walking on the edge of the road.
“In another fatal road traffic accident which occurred on Sunday at around 2am along Masotsha Ndlovu Road near Valley Crest Academy, Waterfalls, a man aged 35 died on the spot after being hit by a Honda Fit.
“A man (24) sustained multiple injuries all over the body after being hit by a Toyota Land Cruiser along ED Mnangagwa Road near Churchill Roundabout on Sunday,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.
