ORGANISERS of the Miss Zimbabwe Elite beauty pageant are calling for entries for their inaugural edition set for this year.

The pageant, a brainchild of UK-based model and fashionista Faith Bozho, has been designed to celebrate and empower Zimbabwean women.

Interested candidates are encouraged to register by March 31 before a final selection of 45 beauties will converge for a boot camp.

In an interview, Bozho said her main focus was on developing contestants rather than making them compete against each other.

“Miss Zimbabwe Elite is more than just a beauty contest but a pageant with a purpose.

“The focus of the pageant is on empowering and supporting the contestants, rather than creating competition.

“By the end of the pageant, each contestant will have gained valuable experience and insights, as well as a network of supportive and like-minded women,” said Bozho.

She added: “We do not restrict our contestants based on body statistics or race, we believe that true beauty is not defined by one’s size or skin colour but by the confidence, grace and intelligence that each woman possesses.

“We want our contestants to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and to know that they are judged on their character and merit, not on superficial qualities.

“We are committed to creating a space where women of all backgrounds can feel welcomed and celebrated.”

There are 14 mini-awards to be won, while the top three winners will receive cash, modelling contracts and hampers.
