PROPHETIC and Healing Deliverance Ministries founder, Prophet Walter Magaya, allowed non-members to partake Holy Communion at their Sunday service in Waterfalls yesterday.
Prophet Magaya said the death of Jesus Christ allowed everyone including non-believers to be counted before God, a favour originally given to the Israelites who were regarded as a chosen nation.
“We have invited our members and non-members to attend our Sunday service to share with them the Holy Communion where we broke bread and drank wine,” said Prophet Magaya.
“We preach the resurrected Jesus Christ who brought forgiveness of sins to all nations and by that there is no reason for us to discriminate people receiving the Holy Communion.
“We are Christians not religious people who teach their church doctrines. Resurrection is victory over death.
“Resurrection is not merely life but it is life from out of death thus, by definition, death has been defeated.
“Resurrection is the act of rising from death and in our context, it is rising above mortality through the understanding of our spiritual life as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
“The tomb of Christ is famous not because Jesus Christ was buried there but because of what it does not contain, that is the emptiness of the grave.
“It is a celebration of life outside the tomb. Resurrection is characterized by restoration, rebirth, rejuvenation, reinvigoration, revitalization, revival, regeneration or renewal from being dead, extinct, expired or stagnant.
“This resurrection completes the establishment of God’s Kingdom demonstrating that His Kingdom really has been launched on earth as it is in heaven,” said Prophet Magaya.
He was helped in breaking the bread by his wife Tendai Magaya as people got close to receive the Holy Communion at a service attended by thousands.
