THE Radiation Protection Authority of Zimbabwe (RPAZ) has launched a radiological water monitoring programme to protect citizens from consuming contaminated water.
RPAZ spokesperson, Shingirai Huni, said this programme aims to safeguard public health by minimising potential risks of radioactivity in water.
The RPAZ has also held awareness engagements and trained personnel from local authorities to detect and address any potential risks or contamination in the water supply.
The monitoring programme follows international standards and guidelines set by the World Health Organisation, International Atomic Energy Agency and other relevant bodies.
