UNITED States-based sound system, Green Lion Crew, are in the country for a concert slated for Harare Gardens this tomorrow
The renowned reggae/dancehall sound system, which jetted in the country this week, will share the stage with local groups like Judgment Yard, Immortal Movement, Digital One, Fyah Lynx, Mighty Ducks, Zi Dancehall Empire and Chilspot Family.
Green Lion is an international producer who has worked with top dancehall artists like Chronix and Beenie Man.
The show is one of a kind with fans guaranteed an eventful night as these top DJs and emcees showcase their talent on the decks and mic.
One of the emcees performing Stansplash, who is performing at the concert, said this will provide a platform for local sound systems to learn from a renowned group.
Stansplash is known for coordinating at high profile gigs in the country keeping fans on their toes with his energy whenever he invades the stage.
He has promised the same come Saturday saying he expects real reggae and dancehall lovers to come in their numbers.
“It’s a show that will come with a lot of lessons for Zimbabwe. It is a show that we are looking forward to and as usual we promise the fans an eventful night.
“Remember there is an international sound system to roar,” he said.
Fyah Lynx who are also part of lineup said they have a good package to stand the test of the night.
While it is a night of entertainment obviously with some education, it cannot be ruled out that performers will be out to outshine each other.
The event is being powered by Rockers Island, a reggae movement dedicated to mobilizing reggae sound systems, Djs and artists and to provide then with opportunities to exhibit their talent.
Their main thrust is to push tourism through art and music.
