BUDIRIRO 5 residents have hailed NetOne’s initiative of providing potent water in the fight against cholera.
Running under the theme “#Impacting lives with one million liters” NetOne has responded to the cholera outbreak in Budiriro and Mbare.
A resident, Ishmael Chanakira, said the donation would go a long way in assisting the affected areas.
“This was a noble act done by NetOne. Their donation shows they are thinking of the affected areas and ways of curbing the further spread of the disease.
“The cholera outbreak is not a Government headache; everyone should play a role in educating people on sanitation and hygiene especially those who handle food in public places,” he said.
Another resident Idah Mukuzhu said the initiative by NetOne was of a good cause and she applauded the idea of installing the storage tanks at schools and churches.
“The idea of installing the storage tanks at schools and churches is good because at least we will know that the tanks are in safe hands,” she said.
She added: “Even though the cases of cholera have been declining we need clean water until the cholera fight is over completely.”
NetOne in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Child Care installed storage tanks at Budiriro 5 Satelite Clinic, Budiriro 1 Primary School, St Faith’s Anglican Budiriro 2, Mbare-Matapi Police Station, Assemblies of God Budiriro 5B and Budiriro 2 Secondary School.
