BLACK Rhinos coach Herbert Maruwa says they have reduced their training hours as a precautionary measure to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Premier Soccer League suspended the league which was supposed to start this month following a directive by the government to ban all sporting activities.
So far they have been two cases of the coronavirus confirmed in Zimbabwe.
“We are still training only that we reduced the training hours than we used to do before.
“We are now working more in the gym and we are taking all the precautionary measures necessary,” he said.
Maruwa says it will be difficult for his boys to maintain fitness since they will not be training much.
“It’s always difficult to maintain same fitness levels if you are not playing games.
“But we will try as much as we can and make sure the boys remain focused amid these fears.
“Mentally we can be affected because we don’t know when games are starting but as a team we need to play safe and make sure the corona thing won’t affect us.
“We know the effect of this thing and how it can also affect us so we are just hoping that it can be contained soon,” he said.
“I want to urge everyone to wash their hands and follow all the steps that are required.
“And I want to wish everyone to be safe where ever they are as we wait for this to be over and start enjoying football, which we all love.
“Can’t wait to see everyone at the stadium, see you soon.”
