A NEW Zim dancehall riddim, set to be released today, is expected to usher in new voices on the local dancehall scene.
Titled New Voices, the riddim was co-produced by Massvilla, Jimstar and Mad P at Loni Studios .
“We are a new studio that seeks to promote new or upcoming artists.
“The genre (Zim dancehall) has not had any news dominating like it was in the last few years.
“This means the genre has become stagnant and yet new artists are the ones that keep the genre alive and going.
“Our focus is to make sure we give more opportunities to up-and-coming artists.
“It is through new projects like these that we expect to get one or two artists who will become big stars soon,” said studio manager Tafadzwa “Dada Toffy” Murwira.
The riddim is expected to be launched on various radio stations today.
Some of the new artists who feature on the compilation are Walleman, Team AV and King Rose.
