Rising gospel musician Nyashadzashe “Nyachide” Thokozane has engaged the services of award-winning musician Tatenda Mahachi in the song You Alone Jesus.

It’s a debut single for the 20 year old songbird.

In an interview, Nyachide said she started singing at a tender age.

“I started singing as long as I can remember then narrowed down to school in front of parents during plays and choir and solo singer at Convent in Harare.

“I zoomed in to church choir where it became more and more apparent I’m competitive and started taking it seriously in 2016 with more focus on my future in music.

“I sing any genre but gospel is my bloodline with exposure locally and South Africa.

“I enjoy afro pop and R&B and always enjoy collaborations,” she said.

She added:

“Presently I am at a college where I am pursuing my music career and also working on my next project with my band.

She also told this publication that she has been affected by the induced lockdown due to Covid-19 scare.

“Covid-19 has been a shocker for everyone me included because I had little knowledge and so much information coming from different sources.

“It affected my movements to finish my single and school attendance.

“Practically I stopped my mixing and mingling with loved ones as normal but it has also set new levels as well as standards for  me to think and work outside the box with my producer.

“It allows us to cross borders and continents more frequently than before via social media and  use of the internet  making me to be better  exposed as well as being be part of the global  village movement.”

In another interview, Mahachi said the song is a powerful reminder that God is always there for us.

“The song is a powerful reminder that we have a loving God who travel with us throughout our lives.

“Even during the time of coronavirus, God loves us and we need to continue calling his name,” he said.

The song was produced by Lazzy T and the video was shot by Umsebenzi ka Blaqs.
