EMPLOYEES of a Chitungwiza guest lodge were victims of an armed robbery, losing cash and personal belongings on Tuesday evening.
Two men approached Damview Guest Lodge receptionist, Abigail Chidzure (23) at around 5pm and sat on the sofa for about five minutes before one of them went behind the counter.
One of the lodge’s general hands, Linah Melisa Machisi (21) tried to push the man out and she was slapped on the face.
The other robber produced a pistol and ordered the two ladies to lie on the floor face down. The robbers stole cash amounting to USD$136, as well as an Itel A56, Samsung A3 core, Huawei Honour and iPhone 14 Promax cellphones.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case saying investigations are in progress.
