A ROW over a toilet position has landed neighbours in court.
Joshua Makona of Epworth appeared before magistrate Tafadzwa Miti after he assaulted Jenifer Musariri who he accused of refusing to remove her toilet from his yard.
The rift came after the Epworth Local Board’s recent re-pegging of stands in Overspill.
“I want him to stop harassing me and my family or order us not to use our toilet, we are humans where does he think we will relieve ourselves.
“He has dug a big pit on the path to the toilet to threaten my children’s safety saying we can’t use the toilet anymore,” said Musariri.
She said her neighbour had resorted to using witchcraft against her.
“At some point, he hired a prophet from Nguwotsvuku who came and sprinkled some juju around the toilet.
“He also behaves strangely and I am no longer at peace at all because I am a widow and my children are young and can’t fight him,” she added.
According to Makona, he wants the toilet demolished because it’s on his land.
“The land belongs to me and I have told her to remove her toilet many times but she is refusing.
“I was given part of that land by the local board after a recent exercise of re-pegging by the local board.
“Some of my land was lost on the other side and allocated on her side,” he said.
Makona said he was also being harassed by Musariri’s relatives for demanding that portion of land.
Magistrate Miti granted the peace order in Musariri’s favour, advising Makona to approach the relevant court for his neighbour’s eviction.
