TWO minor boys who allegedly murdered Samantha Hlahla a hooker in the Harare Avenues area yesterday appeared in court and were denied bail.
The boys aged 17 and 15 (names withheld) were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa facing charges of murder.
It is the State case that the duo hired the services of Samantha in the Avenues area where she was based.
In pursuant of their plan of to murder her, they hired a taxi belonging to Simbarashe Nyakutipoto who drove them to Samantha’s place of residence at corner Central Avenue and Seventh Street.
Upon arrival, the duo allegedly strangled Samantha using a phone charger before stabbing her with a knife.
After killing her, the duo used Samantha’s cellphone to call the taxi driver who had dropped them at the flat who returned to the scene where the duo loaded Samantha’s property into the taxi.
Amongst the stolen goods were two TV sets, cellphones and some money.
The taxi driver drove the duo to Epworth were they were arrested after investigations by the police which saw the recovery of the stolen goods.
The duo also made indications to the police that led to the recovery of Samantha’s blood that was mixed with other substances they drained from her during the murder.
The State led by Linda Gadzikwa opposed bail and the duo was remanded to the juvenile cells.
The matter was remanded to December 19.
