PRINCE Edward Tigers could complete a double on arch rivals Churchill Bulldogs at their Nigel Philips field tomorrow in a Schools Rugby League encounter.
The Tigers XV, who already recorded their first win of the season 25-28 away to Falcon College’s Maddogs last Saturday, approach the derby with confidence.
When the two sides met at the just ended Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival it ended 22-17 in favour of the hosts, Tigers.
However, Tigers manager Tawanda Jimu said they won’t read much into the previous results.
“This is a derby and we can’t count on the last result that we beat them at our festival.
“The boys have been preparing like they have never played against the Bulldogs because the league is a different ball game altogether.
“The win doesn’t count until we come out of Nigel Philips as conquerors,” said Jimu.
He said despite the Tigers narrow win at Falcon, his boys are all in good shape.
“Everyone is fit and ready for the derby on Saturday.
“The coach has told the boys to keep and maintain their structure to achieve maximum results,” he said.
Churchill coach Jeff Madhake had the Bulldogs to blame when they gave up their first half lead but says he has worked on the team’s approach.
