SOUTH AFRICA Premier Soccer League side, Sekhukhune United, has signed Charlton Mashumba, tallying to five the number of Zimbabwean at the club.
The newly-promoted side announced the arrival of the Warriors striker yesterday together with Ghanaian Edwin Gyimah.
“Sekhukhune United FC is pleased to announce the signings of the 29-year-old Charlton Mashumba (Polokwane City FC) and Edwin Gyimah (30) from Black Leopards FC ahead of the 2021/22 Season,” said the club in a statement.
Mashumba joins fellow Zimbabweans already at the club including Tapuwa Kapini, McClive Phiri, Walter Musona and Talent Chawapiwa.
The team, on a recruiting spree, is also reportedly pursuing other Zimbabweans Ovidy Karuru and King Nadolo.
H-Metro Sport gathered some of the deals might fail due to limited foreign quota slots.
A number of Zimbabwean players are, however, acquiring South African citizenship which makes them registered as local players.
