A SELF-STYLED prophet, who the State suspects to be a mental health patient, has been remanded in custody pending examinations by two mental health practitioners after he was arrested at the Blue Roof in Harare.
Gore Mukondiwa appeared before magistrate Sharon Rakafa charged with criminal trespass. The court heard that on Tuesday, Mukondiwa of 1255 Nyamuziwa Crescent, Ruwa, went to number 78 Borrowdale Brooke Road, commonly known as the Blue Roof, and approached Constable Talent Matinha, who was manning the entrance gate.
The State claims Mukondiwa pretended to be a prophet with a prophetic message.
He vowed he wasn’t going to leave the place until he delivered the prophetic message to former First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe.
Amai Mugabe was advised of Mukondiwa’s visit and she labelled it an act of nuisance and she was busy attending to other members of the public, who had visited her residence.
Mukondiwa persisted and was subsequently arrested.
He told magistrate Rafaka that he was a spiritual guide and was surprised why the State had applied for him to be examined in terms of the Mental Health Act because he believes he is mentally stable.
He returns to court next Thursday.
