SELMOR Mtukudzi yesterday saluted UK fans for their unwavering support and loyalty during the just-ended tour of the Queendom.
The versatile diva toured England along with her husband, Tendai Manatsa, and their entire band.
The camp held a series of shows in the UK, including the “Urban Grooves Link Concert,” along with local acts, in Hatfield.
She told H-Metro she believes the tour brought her closer to her old and new overseas fans
“There are benefits to being humble. I made time to take pictures with fans and had some people sharing their stories about how my music has touched their lives.
“It’s information I might have otherwise missed if I didn’t make time to hear feedback from people.
“So, I was glad I did that and I learned that I should continue to do that everywhere I go.”
Selmor believes the fans showed a lot of faith in her brand as she ended up extending her tour.
“I was initially supposed to perform only at the Africa Fest but I ended up doing two more shows at different venues due to the demand of the audience.”
She said home remains the best place for her.
“We always love coming back home every time we travel.
“The tour was a huge success and we had a wonderful time there but there is no place like home.
“This year’s event was better than the other year.
“People responded well to my performance which made me very happy.”
Quizzed what made her act unique, Selmor said:
“I think every artist is unique, I am Selmor and they are them.
“We were all very different which I believe is one of the reasons why the festival was such a huge success.
“It was a wonderful experience.
“I enjoyed spending time with the guys just hanging out, we had great laughs.
“My favorite moment was when we all joined Alexio on stage for his song Shaina, it brought the house down.”
