Former Dynamos goalkeeper Simba Chinani is training with CAPS United ahead of a possible move to the Harare Giants, H-Metro has learnt.
Chinani, now a free agent, had no contract with DeMbare since 2020 and he was angling for a new contract with the club.
This came after he went for an unsuccessful trial stint in South Africa.
Although some reports are saying the player has already signed a one-year contract, CAPS United administrator Morton Dodzo dismissed it saying that they are yet to open negotiations.
“The boy has joined training, but at the moment he is being assessed medically, and not technically. The technical department wants to take a look at him while the medical department also wants to medically examine him.
“So we are hoping after getting positive feedback we will then be open negotiations,” he said.
Makepekepe recently signed rookie goalkeeper Spencer Ngwerume after they lost goalkeeper Wallace Magalene who returned to his former club FC Platinum.
Ngwerume came in as a direct replacement to Magalane.
The Harare giants have two other goalkeepers in the form of Tonderai Mateyaunga and Tatenda Munditi to make them three.
And if the Chinani deal succeeds, it therefore means the Green Machine will have four goal stoppers ahead of the 2021 season.
They also lost Newman Sianchali to rivals Dynamos, Innocent Mucheneka who joined the Zvishavane miners.
Currently the team is preparing for the 2021 campaign which is set to start in July after a whole season layoff.
But before that, the league has proposed a mini-league scheduled for later this month.
