FILM and music producer Simbarashe “Simplex Films” Mazvimba might not be too popular but he is behind several productions for established artistes.
The 24-year-old has done more considering his age and his dream which dates back to 2012.
He has produced beautiful and refreshing videos for Tocky Vibes, Rick Fire, Guspy Warrior, Ras Pompy among others.
“I did my Graphic Designing and Lithography Printing at Harare Polytechnic before I went to study Filming and Television Productions at ZIFTESSA.
“I started filming when I was in grade seven where I used to take photos at wedding events and I would create slide shows.
“In 2012, I met DJ Fantan and Levels at Chillspot while I was doing videos for Ras Pompy, Spiderman and other artistes,” he said.
Asked how many musical videos that he has produced, Simplex Films said:
“I have lost count on the actual numbers of projects I did but I have done more than 10 for Tocky Vibes, six for Ricky Fire, seven for Ras Pompy, Spyderman , Flex T , Guspy Warrior, Tipsy Mabhanditi Yalah Nation Family ,Qshine, Elshan, Mt Zion Musiq, LazzyT only to mention a few.
“I also won the Best Medly of The Year Zimdancehall (ZambaraMedly) produced by Dj Miles.”
The Crowborough based said he is helping artist through his ability.
“I am helping a lot of upcoming artists so that they become visible in this industry.
“In 2020 I have shot more than 30 videos for upcoming including Qshine, T Gunz, Elshan, Jnr Killer, Chezman, Didzaman, Ally D and Ninja Rasta.
“I have also done a video of inmates at Harare Central Prisons called Divine Touch Choir which are self-motivated with the help of Team in Africa,” he added.
Simplex states that he is also into designing.
“I am not only into videos and film, but I do printing and graphic designing and also planning on to open a Record label in 2021.
“Currently I am working on a film called Villagers’ Money in partnership with Tocky Vibes as the Producer of the film which is yet to be released early 2021,” he said.
