AFRO soul musician, Gamuchirai Mutamba, has made her debut in a short film titled “Zuva Rashe”.
The 30-minute film was directed and produced by Junior Jonasi of ReelNass Productions.
In an interview, Gamuchirai said the short film opened new avenues for her.
“The viewers were happy to see me on the screen for the first time, as they always looked up to me as an artist and not a film actress.
“I want to juggle with both music and film acting.
“As of now, I am working on some singles.
“I have done a Sarungano cover by Jah Prayzah and Feli Nandi, which I am going to release soon and the other two singles, which I will release at different intervals,” said Gamuchirai.
She has also been featured in a video for the song Donzvo Remoyo by urban traditional and afro-fusion artist Styles Melik.
“I am the main actor in Donzvo Remoyo, playing the role of a young lady who is being appreciated by her husband.
“I was trying to portray the fact that no matter the ups and downs of life, there is true love out there ready to be tapped,” she said.
Gamuchirai said her major obstacle was failing to get funding for her video productions.
“Right now, my main challenge is funding to produce some videos.
“I have got a lot of followers.
“I am looking forward to featuring in more film productions.”
