A 27 year-old Gutu man, whose images putting on a skeletal body mask are circulating on social media, was arrested for stealing goods and intimidating his victims.

Norman Chagwiza of Gutu stands accused of stealing goods dressed in a mask that covers his body. The body mask looks like a skeleton especially in the dark and he allegedly wears it to frighten his victims.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest saying the accused was expected to appear in court today.

“Police arrested a Gutu man in connection with theft cases reported to have taken place in two villages,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.

“The accused person was reported to have left his village to Mupambiwa village where he is alleged to have stolen a ladder at a house.

“He was reported to have gone to another house where he tied the complainant’s door and the owner ran away after being scared by the dress.

“Villagers were awaken and caught him leading to his arrest,” he said.

A message circulated on social media warning people to be careful as thieves have devised new methods of dressing to scare their victims.
